The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York will be getting a PERMANENT Jim Henson exhibit in winter, 2014! More importantly, Miss Piggy, Gobo Fraggle, Oscar the Grouch, and Mayor Mike Bloomberg made the announcement earlier today.

I’m sure many of you are aware, but just in case not: today is the anniversary of Jim’s passing. Needless to say, the queue running today will be posting a plethora of Jim-centric pictures, videos, and quotes.
I’d like to start today off with this tribute video that’s been on youtube for a while now. It’s one of my favorites, and does a really nice job giving an overview of Jim’s work, his life, and who he was.
Oh man, get ready to have your funny bone tickled and you heart stings tugged.
Here’s some never-before-seen footage (courtesy of the Nerdist’s youtube channel) of Jerry Juhl interacting with Gobo Fraggle back in the late 80’s. It makes for a really amusing watch, and it’s nice getting to see more of Jerry Juhl on screen.
