I made this shadowbox figure for Caroll Spinney, who is famous for playing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. I gave it to him last week. I am in love with this man and his work, he is my hero and muse, not only because of his work with puppetry, but because he and his wife Debbie are two of the warmest people I’ve ever come to know. They are like my kindred spirits.

The character is a puppet of his he had before working on Sesame Street named Picklepuss. He said my artwork was very clever and he wanted to return the favor! Caroll is also an amazing artist; he’s actually done some illustrated books for Sesame Street. So I got a Picklepuss in return. Mick and I absolutely love Caroll and Debbie so much; they inspire us to strive to have the same loving relationship, full of childlike wonder and creativity, throughout our lives.
